Mark Watt developed an interest in quality improvement and change management while working clinically as an emergency room nurse for 10 years. As an early adopter of quality improvement initiatives, an advocate for team based care, and by conducting research on emergency department care, he recognized the importance of supporting those doing the work to change the work. Stepping out of the clinical role, Mark has served in leadership positions focused on supporting physicians and teams to engage with quality improvement in pursuit of better patient and provider satisfaction, better patient outcomes and better value to health systems. Mark has consulted with organizations, provincial, national and international health systems to support their transformation. Mark has expertise in practice facilitation, measurement and project management skills including strategic partnership management/ stakeholder relations, program and initiative development, and evaluation of outcomes.
